Telkom University Industrial Engineering Study Program has carried out a series of community service activities aimed at increasing the potential of Sukapura Village in processing cassava chips production. The service team chaired by Dino Caesaron, as well as members of lecturers Sheila Amalia Salma and Yunita Nugrahaini Safrudin, along with several students, collaborated with staff and mothers of PKK Sukapura Village.
This activity began with Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at the Sukapura Village Office. This FGD aims to determine the needs of users in order to increase the potential of the village in processing cassava chips production. From the results of the FGD, it is known that the village requires appropriate technological assistance that has been held before, in the form of cassava slicing machines and set burners.
Following up on the results of the FGD, the team from Telkom University designed a module on how to use the two tools. The mentoring activity was then carried out on June 24, 2024 at the Sukapura Village Office. The event began with a detailed opening and explanation of the cassava cutting machine and set burner set.
Furthermore, a demonstration was held to use the two tools. Starting with a cassava cutting machine demonstration, followed by the use of a burner set to cassava chips presented and ready for consumption.
At the end of the activity, recording was carried out to find out feedback from participants. Based on the feedback received, the people of Sukapura Village felt very helped by this training program. It is hoped that this activity can support the village government program in increasing the income of the Sukapura village community.
