The S1 IT Study Program Team, the Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FRI) conducted an abdimas in Sukapura Village which is one of the six villages in the Bojongsoang District, which coincided with the Telkom University campus. The village has the potential for cassava chips business managed by the Empowerment of Family Welfare (PKK) of Sukapura Village, which consists of approximately 10 mothers of Sukapura Village residents. However, the business activities experienced obstacles including the lack of technical equipment needed in making and processing cassava chips. Thus, the Abdimas team chaired by Mr. Dino Caesaron, Ph.D (S1 Industrial Engineering lecturer) conducted abdimas activities in order to increase the productivity of the cassava business.

The activity began on Thursday, November 2, 2023 by identifying needs with village officials and residents of residents at the Sukapura Village Office. Its need is a cassava cutting machine, cassava washing tub, and a cassava chips burner set.

The next activity is to design the design of these needs using Autodesk Inventor software. The verification and validation process of the design design design was carried out at the Sukapura Village Office on Tuesday, December 26, 2023 to find out whether the design designed was as needed or not. In the end, village officials and residents agreed to the design.

Two weeks after the verification and validation process, the handover of equipment was carried out, which was held on Wednesday, December 10, 2024. On that same day, the Abdimas team also demonstrated the equipment so that the village team more easily practiced it. All village officials and residents of residents feel enthusiastic about the existence of these equipment. Thus, mothers of residents do not need to do the process of cutting cassava all day. With the cutting tool, residents can cut cassava within a few minutes. Similarly, the burner set that helps speed up the frying process because it is high pressure.
