Ant sugar is brown sugar powder derived from ready -made brown sugar or comes from palm sap or coconut. The shape of the ant sugar that is powder and has a low water content causes sugar to dissolve easily so that the presentation is very practical. In addition, ant sugar is also easy to be packaged and carried, and has a relatively long shelf life.

One of the raw ingredients of ant sugar is derived from solid sugar/gandu. The solid sugar is chopped to produce a thin piece of sugar and then a crystallization process is carried out where the sugar is melted back into liquid. In certain thickness, the sugar is crushed to become a small particle as well as a drying process. Small particles of this sugar are then dried using an oven. The next process of dry sugar particles is mashed using a penepung machine. And then the subtle sugar particles have sifted to get the size of the particle that is evenly distributed. If it does not pass the sifting, this sugar particle will be re -processed in the crystalist machine.

At-Taqwa Tasikmalaya Islamic Boarding School has adequate production of ant sugar processing products from Bank Indonesia. For the At-Taqwa Islamic Boarding School, these machines are new, therefore we, the Team of Lecturer and Students from the FRI Telkom University Industrial Engineering Study Program which consists of Haris Rachmat, MT, Rino Andias Anugraha, MT, Denny Sukma Eka Atmaja, M.Sc, Raka Aditya Prayoga, and AGNIS Fadillah, moved to provide training on how to maintain the maintenance of the machines so that they are not damaged.

The training which is a community service of the 2021 Regular scheme, is given in the form of direct counseling to students starting from the explanation of components that must be cared for regularly, how to care for them, as well as the maintenance schedule. This training was conducted on June 16, 2021 at the At-Taqwa Islamic Boarding School and was attended by 10 students who would later operate these machines.

During the training, participants were quite enthusiastic and many things they asked. This is because the training is given directly in the machine and santri can directly practice it on these machines. Based on the survey of the training that has been carried out, participants are quite satisfied and they still want training so that they can further master the operation and maintenance of ant sugar processing machines.
