The Faculty of Industrial Engineering (FRI), Telkom University has carried out community service programs (PKM) in collaboration with Bank Indonesia, the Directorate of Sharia Economics (DEKS). This activity focuses on increasing economic activities for the At-Taqwa Islamic Boarding School in Tasikmalaya Regency precisely in Selawu District.
Selawu District, Tasikmalaya Regency has a large enough natural resource and human resources to produce ant sugar. According to the Chairman of the PKM Team, Yudha Prambudia, Ph.D., the purpose of this program is to help the At-Taqwa Islamic Boarding School to build and develop an ant sugar business unit which is a very potential local product. This business unit will be beneficial for pesantren as a source of active income and also as a means of developing the skills of students so that they are able to develop an ant sugar business independently.
The activities carried out can be divided into two parts, including; (1) Provision of machinery and production equipment to increase ant sugar production capacity, (2) conduct training and assistance in production, online/offline marketing based on IT and business continuity. Provision of machines is carried out by first determining the needs and specifications of the engine based on the production of ant sugar production process in accordance with the condition of the Attaqwa Islamic Boarding School. The process is then continued the process of selecting vendors and orders. The production machine installation was carried out at the Attaqwa Islamic Boarding School by the vendor with the supervision of the production machine team led by Haris Rachmat ST, M ... T, with the result that the machine can be installed and functioning according to the design.
Training and assistance is carried out in the field of production, offline and online marketing processes, and business continuity. Training and mentoring in the field of production process include materials regarding the calculation of the cost of production, the use and maintenance of production machines and production trials.
Marketing training and assistance includes marketing strategies (products, places, prices, promotion), and online marketing strategies (management of marketplace apps) given by Ir. Budi Yogaswara, MT. Business training and assistance includes business modeling in the Canvas Business Model (BMC) method and the design of business organizations.
The activity of providing production and training/assistance machines has been carried out and received good receipts from the Attaqwa Islamic Boarding School and also from the local government, as stated by the Head of PP At-Tqawa, KH. M. Iwan Zen and Sub -District Head of Selawu, Drs. Ade Rona, M.Sc.
Furthermore, both the Regional Government and the leader of the pesantren hope that the existence of this production machine will provide broader benefits for the surrounding community. In accordance with this expectation, stakeholders or other relevant stakeholders and can help develop the Attaqwa Ant Sugar Sugar Business Activities, such as the Village Head, Youth Organization and Association of Ant Sugar Craftsmen, have also been present in training activities, so that it can be part of the Pesanten Attaqwa Ant Sugar Business Ecosystem.
Attaqwa Islamic Boarding School has now succeeded in producing ant sugar in packaging that is ready to be sold to online and offline markets. The marketing process has begun by creating an ant sugar seller account on behalf of the Attaqwa Islamic Boarding School students in Tokopedia, besides that the Attaqwa website has been online and ready to be accessed. Business sustainability has been analyzed by the formation of a business model canvas of the Attaqwa ant sugar products and business organizations have been designed internally in pesantren.
