The concept of games for children aged 3-6 years must be practical, easy to play, and fun or not monotonous. This concept was carried by one of the community service teams of the Faculty of Industry Engineering, Telkom University, with the title "Design of Boar Games On The Go with Sprint Design Methods at the Arcamanik District Teacher Activity Center". This team consists of 3 Industrial Engineering lecturers (Ika Arum Puspita, Maria Dellarosawati, and Devi Pratami) and 2 Industrial Engineering students (Fibyan Saleh Anthony and Praptiana Raisya Syarif). This Board Games displays caterpillars and chicken characters. Both of these characters that gave rise to the idea of the name "Si Ulam"
The ulam is a board games on the go that can be carried anywhere, its size is not too large and made of fabric that is comfortable and safe for children. This boardgames can also be converted into a practical bag for storing the attributes of the game. The number of boxes is only 36 so that children do not get bored when playing.
This game is a modification of snake ladder games. This board game has a ladder to go up to the next box, and a caterpillar to go down to the previous box. Different things are stairs and caterpillars we can set yourself will be placed in any box. So it can be different in each game.
Other modifications are also boxes with purple and red, of course the laying of this color can also be set anywhere according to our wishes when it will start the game. If it stops in the box, the player must take a red or purple card containing simple commands that have been adapted to the age of the child and there are commands as exercises to sharpen the children's gross motor skills.
The Chairman of the Aramanik District Teacher Activity Center, Dwi Ara Marliah M.MPd, has welcomed the Abdimas program. The existence of this game can help teachers in enriching learning activities in class. For now, the Ulam is handed over to the Chairperson of the Arcamanik District Teacher Activity Center, but does not rule out the possibility of this game can be used for other schools or used by other children to play at home to hone gross motor skills in early childhood.
