The people of Sukapura Village, Bandung Regency have the desire to overcome plastic waste that is increasingly mounting in their village. Plastic waste actually has economic potential if re -utilized by recycling into a product that has a selling value. Therefore, Telkom University, located close to Sukapura Village, has contributed to building a waste recycling system, especially bottled rubbish and mineral water cups. The plastic waste recycling system consists of several machines, namely a plastic chopper, washing machine from plastic chopped, and plastic lubricant. The results of the plastic chopped lubricant which is then printed into a paving block that can be sold so that it can provide financial benefits for the people of Sukapura Village.

 

To overcome these problems, it is necessary to develop and modify the machine on the plastic waste recycling system in Sukapura Village. With this engine development and modification activity, it is expected to reduce the cost of production of paving blocks and increase paving block in order to improve the economy of the people of Sukapura Village, Bandung Regency.

 

The first machine modified is a plastic chopper machine. This machine serves to chop bottles and glass of mineral water so that the volume of plastic becomes smaller so that it is easier to be diluted to be printed into a finished product. This plastic chopper machine has a length of 150 cm and a width of 80 cm. The main tool on this machine that serves to chop the plastic in the form of a chopper made of steel. The engine is moved with a 10 PK driving force with diesel fuel. The capacity of this enumerator is estimated to be up to 100 kg of plastic per hour. The second machine modified is a plastic chopped lubricant machine. This lubricant machine serves to melt the plastic chopped plastic, where the output of this machine in the form of liquid plastic will be directly printed into a finished product, namely paving block .

 

 

The handover of the modification machine was carried out in May 2023. It is hoped that the Regional Government officials, Youth Organization, and the Sukapura Village community can work well together to be able to build a waste bank system in the Sukapura village environment and can reduce the use of disposable plastic so that the ideals of the Sukapura village community to reduce plastic waste in their area can be immediately achieved.
