The Purpose of Community Service Program Industrial Engineering Study Program Faculty of Industrial Engineering Telkom University with this training and assistance scheme is to conduct training in making yogurt to housewives (IRT) at RW 12 Cibeunying Kidul, Bandung. The expected output from community service is: (1) the existence of knowledge about making yogurt in IRT; (2) the existence of an IRT Yogurt Online Traders group; (3) The existence of IRT awareness to help support the family economy. So that in the end there is a further impact, namely: (1) IRT revenue increases; (2) Reducing the problem of the economy of the community; (3) Increasing IRT interest to build a business in supporting the family economy. Implementation evaluation is carried out by: (1) the distribution of questionnaires to measure the achievement of outputs and the impact of the results of the training; (2) field visits and observations; (3) assistance.

Community Service Partners

There are two abdimas activities partners, the first object of Abdimas is RW 12 housewife, the second activity partner is MSME Yogurt Mamazy. The Abdimas Team of the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, assisted by the two partners, cooperated to carry out this Abdimas activity so that it could run well and in accordance with the objectives.

IRT RW 12 coordinated by the Chairman of RW 12 and the IRT RW 12 community participated with:

The results of community service activities

This activity was carried out on July 12, 2024 at the Multipurpose Building RW 12. The Abdimas activity, consisting of pre-training, training, and after training activities.

This training activity was addressed to housewives RW 12, which in the amount of approximately thirty participants. The training materials provided include the following:

(i) Presentation

The community service team from Telkom University prepares materials to be delivered to the training participants and materials that will be used in making yogurt. The material presented included:

  • The benefits of yogurt for the human body.
  • How to process yogurt.

(ii) demonstration of making yogurt

Demonstrations of making yogurt include the stages of the process, among others:

  • Heat the milk to be fermented at 90 ° C for 15-30 minutes.
  • Cool the heated milk until the temperature reaches 40 ° C.
  • Inocate yakult as much as 2% of the amount of milk to be fermented, then close the milk where the milk.
  • Keep milk that has been inoculated in a room with a temperature of about 43C for 3 hours or until a pH 4-5 is reached.
  • Cool milk that has reached pH 4 - 5 at 5 ° C to then be packaged in bottles or other places. This is done because Yakult is circulating in the community so it is easy to get it.

Further training can be done by looking at the results of previous training. The Abdimas Team of the Industrial Engineering Study Program in the Faculty of Industrial Engineering, assisted by the two partners, cooperates to carry out the sustainability of the Abdimas program so that it can run well and in accordance with the objectives and benefit all parties involved.
