Internet of Things (IoT) can be defined as the relationship between humans, animals or objects that have the ability to exchange data through networks without involving human interaction with computers (Deshmukh, 2019). IoT offers a variety of connectivity from devices, systems, and services that function in machine-to-machine communication and cover most applications. At present, there are many implementation of IoT devices in the field of manufacturing such as controlling the production process, calculating the use of electrical energy online and realtime, monitoring the contents of the warehouse, the default sensor of humidity, monitoring water supply, monitoring water pollution and so on.
The application of IoT in the manufacturing industry is widely used in automation technology. Automation is a technology that applies mechanics, electronics, and systems based on computers to operate and run operations (Adi, 2015). The application of automation is expected to increase productivity, reduce labor costs, increase the level of work safety and others.
One of the main components in automation is the use of pneumatic technology. Pneumatic is a science that discusses actions driven by high pressure air resulting from air compression, where the air pressure compressed in the tube (cylinder) will produce a mechanical force (Achmad, 2022). Pneumatic learning at SMKN 2 Tasikmalaya is currently using adequate equipment but the number is only one set, while the number of students is around 120 people. Then one solution is to use Fluid SIM simulation software.
Community service by conducting fluidsim software training to support the learning of automation technology and its implementation at Universal Robot for teachers and students of SMKN 2 Tasikmalaya carried out by a team from FRI Telkom University consisting of Haris Rachmat, ST. MT and Budi Sulistyo PhD. Activities carried out on July 2, 2023 are very helpful for understanding and improving skills for teachers and students about pneumatic technology. Overall, based on 5 aspects evaluated through community service participants it can be concluded that community service activities carried out in accordance with the purpose of holding community service activities, are highly accepted and useful for teachers and students of SMKN 2 Tasikmalaya. They hope that practice can be done directly with existing tools so that they can try to try various case scenarios more freely. In addition, they also expect similar activities to be held again because it provides great benefits for them as a support for the learning process in schools.
