Telkom University Inaugurated 2,572 graduates (Industrial Engineering: 171 Graduates and 21 Graduates Have Received Cum Laude Honor)
BANDUNG, TELKOM UNIVERSITY – Senate Open Session of Telkom University (Tel-U) with an agenda of the 16th graduation for Master, Bachelor, and Associate Expert for Period I of the 2018/2019 Academic Year was held on Friday & Saturday (23 & 24 November 2018). The Session held at Benggala Building or Telkom University Convention Hall (TUCH) inaugurated 2,572 graduates from 27 study programs, among 31 study programs at seven faculties in Telkom University, not less than 388 people (15%) graduating from this period stated that they had a job.
After going through this inauguration process, the graduates will join Telkom University Alumni Forum (FAST) with a total of 45,394 alumni and spread across 30 countries among others the United States, Brazil, Australia, New Zealand, United Kingdom, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, France , Germany, Belgium, Poland, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei Darussalam, Vietnam, Cambodia, China, Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Oman, Nigeria, Nepal, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan and Timor Leste.
The Rector of Telkom University Prof. Adiwijaya in his speech congratulated and thanked the parents of the graduates who entrusted their sons / daughters to Telkom University.
“Hopefully your hard work will be rewarded much more by Allah SWT and Hopefully all the knowledge that has been learned by the graduates will be blessed for your future journey.” He said
In the 5th year, Telkom University always strives to continuously improve the quality of the institution that are oriented towards national and international standards. This was proven after achieving A accreditation by the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education, at the beginning of 2018, Tel-U also ranked 401 in the ranking of QS AUR (Asia University Ranking). This proves that Tel-U has entered the competition of world universities.
And in mid-2018, Telkom University was designated as a university with the highest publication productivity in Indonesia in the category of Private University (PTS) in 2018 Science and Technology Index Awards (SINTA) by the Republic of Indonesia Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education. Telkom University is also ranked 1st Private University for the highest international publication productivity (schimago version), the best private university webometrics version, and the most popular private university according to 4ICU (Unirank). The ministry of research, technology and higher education also awarded Widya Padhi to Telkom University as a university with the best Innovations.
Beside the quality of the University, the quality of the Faculty is also continuously improved, there are currently 9 Study Programs in Tel-U that achieve international accreditation, among others 3 study programs at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) namely Master Study Program (ABEST21 – Japan) , S1 Management (ASIC, UK) and S1 Accounting (ASIC, UK). 2 Study Programs at the Faculty of Communication and Business (FKB), namely S1 Communication Science (ASIC, UK) and S1 Business Administration (ASIC, UK). 2 Study Programs in the Faculty of Creative Industries (FIK) namely S1 Visual Communication Design (ASIC, UK) and S1 in Fine Arts (ASIC, UK). Two Engineering study programs, namely S1 Telecommunication Engineering (Faculty of Electrical Engineering) and S1 Industrial Engineering (Industrial Engineering Faculty) have received IABEE international accreditation which is an affiliate of the JABEE – Japan international accreditation body. Currently 5 study programs are in the process of getting IABEE accreditation namely S1 Electrical Engineering (FTE), S1 Physics Engineering (FTE), S1 Computer Systems (FTE), S1 Information Systems (FRI) and S1 Informatics Engineering (FIF).
Prof. Adiwijaya also gave high appreciation to the lecturers and students who have made Tel-U name both in national and international events.
“I congratulate the lecturer at Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Angga Rusdinar, Ph.D, who became the Oustanding Lecturer of Kopertis Level in 2018 and congratulates Rika Yuliant who became the best librarian at West Java Province Level.”
The proud achievements of students among others Firza Maulana Nasution (Faculty of Applied Sciences) and Rivaldo Ludovicus Sembiring (Faculty of Informatics) who won the gold medal in the international i-Envex 2018 Malaysia competition due to the findings of recycling cigarette filters into bioethanol.
In 2018/2019 academic year the amount of scholarships in Telkom University reached Rp.8.5 billion and was given to 1,557 students for outstanding students and those who needed study finance assistance due to various financial constraints they faced.
As a closing, the Rector again thanked all the steak holders involved in the development of Telkom University in this 5th year.
